The world ranking

We are going to study and learn more about all aspects of poverty. We are going to discover the inequality there is in the world and how we can come across situations of need and hardship anywhere in the world, even in the Basque Country.


Now look at the table with the complete figures for all nine countries. The whole class is going discuss the answers to the following questions:



1. Which is the poorest country in terms of average life expectancy for women? And the richest?

2. If you are a man, which is the poorest country in terms of average life expectancy? And the richest?

3. Are there differences between the average life expectancy of men and women?

4. Look at the column for average years of schooling. Which is the richest country? Which is the poorest one?

5. Are there differences between the average years of schooling for men and women?

6. In terms of income, which is the richest country? And which is the poorest?
