My positive experience with water

In this unit, we will work on expressing the feelings and emotions caused by water, recognising its vital importance, as well as how it makes us happy and cheerful.

The whole class is now going to watch the following short film that was entered for the competition “Give me 1 minute of water” organised by UNESCO’s Basque branch, Unesco Etxea, in 2011.

Now let’s think about and discuss the following questions.

  1. What’s happening in the video?
  2. What feelings and emotions are these girls experiencing?
  3. What feelings and emotions have you experienced?
  4. Are these feelings and emotions good or bad?
  5. Did you like it? Why?

To end this first exercise, carefully read article 31 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

  1. ...recognize the right of the child to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts.
  2. Art. 31 Convention of the Rights of the Child (1989)

And what about us, how do we have fun with water?
